Our Story
Caring for the residents of Camden for over 50 years.
For nearly 51 yeas, Karesh Long Term Care was located on the main campus of KershawHealth. It was dedicated on March 19, 1972 in the name of A. Sam Karesh and has served Kershaw County faithfully ever since.
A Heritage of Generosity
A. Sam Karesh was a local businessman who opened the upscale ladies’ wear “Fashion Shop” in 1922 in downtown Camden. He was active in many local organizations and took a special interest in the healthcare of the community serving as a member of the board of directors of the “old Camden Hospital” from 1946 until it moved to its current location, then as a board member of Camden Memorial—the nursing home located in the then vacated buildings of the hospital—until it closed, and as a board member of Kershaw County Memorial Hospital to which the Karesh Wing was added and he personally solicited funds for its construction. In total, Mr. Karesh, served Kershaw County in various ways for more than 46 years. His motto was, “Service before self,” an ideal the staff of Karesh Long Term Care tries to embody every day.
A New Chapter in Caring for Camden
In February 2023, Karesh LTC moved to the new, stand-alone facility at Beachwood located just off of Liberty Hill Road.
The 95,000 square foot facility has 132 beds and is divided into 6 neighborhoods to make it easy to navigate.
Our large Community Room is a great place to sit and visit or gather with family and friends.
Neighborhood entrances allow easier access so guests have more time to spend with residents.
